Fall Preview[]
On September 2, 2012, Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito, Toks Olagundoye and Simon Templeman appeared in "The Chew Presents ABC's Primetime Fall Preview Special."
Following establishing shots of Johnie's Coffee Shop Restaurant in Los Angeles (which has been sitting empty since 2000), the cast was seen in a diner, discussing the series over a meal consisting of meatloaf, bean salad, peas, and tuna casserole.
In a nod to the Pilot episode, the segment ended with the cast being given four forks and a cherry pie.
Additionally the cast appeared in a segment called "Celebrity Egg Timer" in which they were asked a random succession of questions about their lives and careers.
October 1, 2012[]
On October 1, Jami Gertz returned to "The Chew," live in studio. Although the appearance was intended to push "The Neighbors," Gertz mostly talked about her previous roles. However, during another round of "Celebrity Egg Timer" Gertz was asked, "What would you bring to an alien potluck dinner?" "Tolstoy!" she proudly announced.
